Frequently Asked Questions

What Is the Time Commitment Per Session?

That is up to you! I offer 3, 9 and 18-hour packages for residential and business decluttering and organizing, plus a 6-hour annual maintenance package to keep things running smoothly.

For homes on the market, I offer a 2-hour staging consultation with a flat rate and a customized guide to help you create strong listing photos. I also offer Photo Prep support to help implement recommendations, available as a package or hourly.

For moving support, I offer 4-hour and 8-hour packages for decluttering, packing, and unpacking. An à la carte option is also available.

All packages include a complimentary virtual or in person consultation. Contact me directly to schedule your initial consultation.

How much does it cost to get organized?

Every project is unique. Pricing depends on the size and scope of the work and how many areas we are tackling. I often suggest we begin with a 3-hour session to start. Then, we will have a better idea of the number of additional hours that may be needed. I share my pricing document after our initial consultation.

What Is the Process for Getting Started?

I offer a complimentary initial consultation to learn about your goals and see your space, virtually or in person. We’ll talk through your organizing style and create a plan for next steps. Most clients begin with a 3-hour work session, tailored to your needs and schedule. Before each follow up appointment, we review what’s working and make adjustments as needed.

Who Do You Help?

Most of my clients tell me they feel overwhelmed and aren’t sure where to start. I’ve worked with individuals and families of all ages, including singles, families with children, business owners and anyone who wants a more organized home or office.

I also support seniors who are downsizing to move into a smaller space or to age in place, as well as clients preparing to sell their home while still living in it. Whether you want a more functional layout, a refreshed look, or better systems for your home or office, I can help you create a space that works.

Do you work with people with ADHD?
Absolutely! I work with clients who have ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions, such as autism spectrum disorder. I understand that traditional organizing methods don’t always work for everyone. My approach is practical, personalized, and focused on creating systems that are easy to maintain and fit the way each individual lives and thinks. There’s no judgment, just compassionate support to help you create a home that feels lighter, calmer, and more functional.
Do you organize businesses and home offices?
I do organize businesses and home offices. Disorganized work spaces can make it hard to get things done. I can help create a more functional, organized space and systems that make your workday easier. I can help you organize files and supplies and improve workplace flow. You will spend less time looking for things and more time accomplishing tasks.
Do you take donations and recycling in Minnesota?
After each session, I offer to take a carload of items to donation. Having decluttered items out of your space immediately is satisfying and lends a feeling of peace and calm. This is also one less thing for you to do. I will donate to the location of your choice, or I can suggest options. You can of course opt-out of this service if you wish.
Do I need to clean before you come?

There is no need to prepare your home or office in any way before I come. In fact, seeing your space in it’s natural state helps us figure out where you need organizing systems to support you better. We will organize areas as we go so that you have a sparkling, organized space when everything is complete!

Should I purchase organizing supplies in advance?

Please do not buy anything. We will determine what, if anything, may be needed as we go. Often, we find useful organizing supplies in your home or office as we work through it. I will bring a small assortment or organizing supplies which you can purchase if needed. Also, if additional products would be useful, I will measure and send links for you to purchase.

Do I need to be preseent while you are working?

It is not necessary for you to be in the room. We will discuss the goals for your space at our initial consultation, so I have a clear understanding of what you want done. If I have questions about certain items, I will clearly leave the items with notes for you to review when you return.

Will you make me get rid of everything?

Absolutely not. These are your things. We will talk through options as we declutter. As we sort through items, it is easier to see the quantity of items that you have. You may decide to keep some things initially, but let them go later. That is completely up to you.

What Is Your Background Education and Training?

I’m trained through the Institute for Organizing Professionals, the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals, Staging Studio, and Transformations Staging. I hold certificates in Residential Organizing, Move Management, and Home Staging, and I’m a Certified Home Stager and Master Color Consultant. I’ve also completed the Occupied Consultation Specialist training program.

What is the Best Room to Start Organizing In?

It helps to start with the space that causes you the most stress. Think about how you want that area to function and what your goals are. If you’re not sure where to begin, that’s completely normal, and I can help you decide on a starting point and set clear goals. A professional organizer also brings fresh eyes and a new perspective, which can make the whole process feel much easier.

What is the difference between home organizing and home staging?

Home organizing and home staging are two different services with distinct goals. Home organizing is all about creating functional, personalized systems to help the current residents live more efficiently and comfortably. It focuses on decluttering, optimizing storage, and improving the flow of everyday life.

In contrast, home staging is designed to prepare a home for sale by making it visually appealing to potential buyers. The goal is to highlight the home’s strengths, create a neutral, inviting atmosphere, and help buyers picture themselves living there. While organizing supports long-term use, staging is a temporary strategy to make a strong first impression during the selling process.
